**Position Summary: **

The Brewer role is responsible for performing a variety of fundamental and supportive tasks befitting a production brewery, including canning, bottling, kegging, wort production, cellar work, and general housekeeping operations, with assistance in maintenance duties and other departments as needed. This position will report directly to the Head Brewer, ensuring implementation of all standard operating procedures to maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency throughout the production process. We are looking for someone to fill this role who has a thorough understanding of all aspects of beer production, including CIP procedures, safety, packaging, yeast wrangling, wort production, and QA/QC.

We operate a 20 bbl two vessel Deutsche brew house and also have a 2.5 bbl pilot system. We can our beer on a Wild Goose Evolution Series with a Ska Depalletizer. Our beers see distribution in the Greater Atlanta area, northern Georgia, Western Georgia, and expanding beyond. Meanwhile, our pilot system enables us to create a wide (and wild) variety of beers and to collaborate with our community for Taproom-only releases.

Job Duties and Expectations:

•Adheres to and advances all safety protocols set in place by the Owner and Head Brewer •Handling packaging operations, including can, keg, and bottle filling; labeling; palletizing; wrapping; and warehousing •Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment as assigned •Assists in and performs beer production operations, including cellar and laboratory processes, vessel CIP, wort production, and other beer pro duction tasks •Assists in and performs essential warehousing functions, including accepting and fulfilling shipments, and inventorying materials •Maintains detailed records and quality control reporting •Maintains inventories of raw and finished goods •Leads public tours, education, and tastings, and interacts positively with brewery guests, co-workers, accounts, distributors, and suppliers •Participates in festivals and promotional events as needed •Keeps a flexible schedule to accommodate demands of a growing production brewery •Understands that additional duties may be assigned as dictated by circumstance. And that on occasion holiday work may be required. •Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc…) and Internet browsers •Strong mechanical aptitude •2-3 years direct experience preferred •Able to mentor and train less experienced brewers in the cellar and brewhouse •Able to perform other duties assigned by supervisor or management based on company needs •Enthusiasm for craft beer and a commitment to high quality product •The ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards •A desire to learn and demonstrate best practices and assist in developing a quality oriented standard of protocol in a new brewery setting •Using and understanding Lock Out / Tag Out, Confined Space Entry, and other important core safety protocols •The capacity to manage multiple processes simultaneously and adapt to the irregularities of a shifting production schedule •Fastidious workmanship and attention to detail •Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude •Stands, walks, crouches, and lifts regularly throughout duration of shift, including continual dragging carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, carts, buckets, carts, tools, and reservoirs •Must be able to perform continuous bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 165 lb •Must be able to work standing for extended periods. While we try to keep shifts under nine hours, if you’ve been in the industry long enough to apply for this job, you know how easily a day can go off the rails.
