Job Purpose

As a member of the Sales Team, the role of the Merchandiser is to increase sales and improve representation of Annex throughout Calgary, which includes retailers and grocery stores. The objective of the Merchandiser is to retain key relationships while seeking new opportunities and increasing brand awareness.

The Merchandiser will be responsible for providing support for the Territory Managers by visiting liquor and grocery stores in the Calgary area. Maintaining good relationships with our retailers will be the primary goal, which will be accomplished by the best possible presentation of Annex products on shelves, ensuring proper inventory rotation, and checking for product freshness.

Responsibilities ● Visit Annex retail grocery and liquor accounts inthe greater Calgary area to provide customer service in the form of product stocking and rotation ● Follow FIFO procedures and and rotating out products to ensure freshness ● Maintain consistency and high visible presence in designated retail stores ● Support the execution of store promotions by ensuring all shelves are filled and promotional materials are maximized throughout the account ● Take orders from customers and communicate customer needs to the Sales Team ● Nurture strong business relationships with key customers and consumer groups while identifying new accounts ● Communicate with the sales team on an on-going basis to ensure market expectations are met and opportunities are being identified ● Exercise strong computer and communication skills to track business activities, maintain detailed records on customer/account interactions through strict adherence to the CRM and sales process ● Attend and actively participate in company arranged training, coaching, and planning sessions ● Represent Annex in the community and participate in new store openings, industry events, activities, festivals, trade shows and tastings. ● Educate direct consumers on all Annex Ale Project and Annex Soda Mfg. products through store tastings ● Collaborate with the Annex management team to ensure systems and processes are well designed to ensure customer satisfaction

Required Knowledge and Skills ● Customer service experience ● Interest in craft beer and knowledge of Annex Ale Project products ● Dedication to process, organization, planning and multi-tasking ● Excellent verbal and written communication ● Computer literacy ● Valid Alberta Driver’s License and up-to-date ProServe(Annex to provide Proserve) ● Ability to learn about AGLC regulations as it pertains to marketing, promotion and sale of alcohol. ● Proactive and self-motivated to achieve results ● Ability to work with a team as well as independently with little to no supervision
